Become a hosted student
The host program is designed around meritocracy and equal opportunity. Currently, the main barrier to studying abroad is family finances and high rent prices rather than student grades. Our primary mission is democratizing academic and cultural exchange.
How the Host Program Works
With this host program, for an agreed duration (typically an academic year), you'll live with a host family or student apartment. Once your studies end, and within a maximum of three years, you must host an international student—usually someone from your host family— for the same duration.
Program Admission
To be admitted into the host program and ensure host family peace of mind, you must complete a validation process:
- Legal age: You must be of legal age when hosted.
- Trust screening: Complete psychometric tests, personal interviews, and present academic transcripts.
- Mutual security: Sign a formal lease agreement and private agreement detailing household rights and obligations.
- Optionally, some families request a criminal background check certificate.

Can the host family charge me?
Yes, they can charge for utility expenses as a fixed fee or proportional bills, plus room rent. Some families charge nothing because hosting costs are minimal and prefer sending their children under equal conditions. In that case, expenses are €0/month plus fees. Everything is detailed in the lease.
How are common areas like the bathroom or kitchen managed?
Before hosting begins, an agreement is drafted to manage cleaning, shared spaces, schedules, and the student's room.
What do we offer?
We offer the opportunity to study abroad without housing costs being an obstacle,
backed by legal guarantees of a signed lease covering rights
and duties, alongside the comfort of being hosted by families sharing your educational values.
To prevent fraud, we verify landlord and property credentials.
If a student violates terms, they must leave the host home. To avoid this, we offer mediation services
to handle complaints and find fair compromises.
What is the difference between hosting a student and doing a room exchange?
Hosting a student is asynchronous: you host a student first, and once their studies finish, the
hosted student must host another student.
Room exchange is synchronous: you offer your room to an international student at the same time you occupy another room abroad.
How do I start?
You must start with the Room Application Plan to list your room, and once you match with another student, upgrade to the Room Exchange Plan.
